Our company has been active in the ecological market since 1997. Every year we improve our services and introduce new technologies. The company’s specialists carry out the design and construction of bioengineering structures, the preparation of technological documentation.
Bioengineering facilities (BIS) are used in the development and methods of wastewater treatment from pollutants. They belong to new types of water protection structures. BIS combine the basic components of soil cleaning structures and bioponds with plantings of higher aquatic vegetation (HVR). In their implementation, an important role is played by the presence of favorable hydrogeological conditions of the area where the placement is planned. The most common bioengineered treatment facilities for surface runoff of the following types: bioponds, phytofilters, bioplateaus, biofiltration channels.
The practice of using biological ponds with VVR for water self-purification has shown the greatest efficiency and effectiveness. We will help you to apply this technology in your industry! Contact us for advice and you will receive more detailed information about the service from our specialists.
Design features
Such structures are created in the form of a shallow reservoir of any shape, where the filter load is placed. Opposite the drain on the wall of the pool, drainage and drainage are made, which regulate the passage of treated water through the phytomass of the VVR and other elements. Typically, a reservoir is populated with such plants: lake reed, team cladophora, arrowhead, elodea, narrow-leaved cattail and the like. Species for planting are selected based on the nature of the pollutants. Most often, LIS are designed in the form of a cascade (2-3 structures), which provides microbiological cyclic processes.
Peculiarities of cleaning
The main advantages of the BIS system are the presence of an algobacterial complex and the introduction of soil cleaning methods. The root mass of VVR inside the reservoir allows the use of an auxiliary disinfection mechanism used by macrophyte plants. Contaminants are removed in various ways. Their first part comes out as a gas; the second – in dissolved form with water; the third – with the biomass of algae, bacteria and plant phytomass, and the last – does not leave the reservoir. With the help of BIS, the content of suspended solids is rapidly reduced, and as a result, purified water is obtained, which meets the established standards.
Efficiency of polluted water treatment
Wastewater is affected by various physical, chemical and biochemical processes: adsorption-desorption, oxidation-reduction, etc. As a result of laboratory tests, bioengineering facilities demonstrated the highest rates of water purification from such substances: ammonium ions, nitrate ions by 60-90%; bacteria E-Coli, microalgae – 96-98%; organic compounds by BOD, COD by 65-90%; suspended solids – 96-98%; oil products – 20-90%. Less effective, but managed to remove: phosphates by 20-60%; sodium, calcium, magnesium ions – 10-15%; heavy metal ions by 20-80%; sulfate ions – 25-30%.
