In 1967 an institute “VNIPICHermetenergoochistka” was created by the order of the Ministry of ferrous metallurgy in Kharkov (since 1982 it became Scientific and manufacturing center "Energostal"). It was an organization working in the sphere of cleaning waste gases, sewage, evaporation cooling of metallurgical equipment and in the sphere of use of secondary energy resources at enterprises of ferrous metallurgy of USSR.
The same year on May 29th a branch of the institute was created in Zaporozhye, the main aim of which was implementation of developments of the institute at enterprises of ferrous metallurgy of Ukraine. There were three structural subdivisions in the branch:
• Department of cleaning waste gases;
• Department of cleaning sewage;
• Department of evaporation cooling of metallurgical equipment and use of secondary energy resources.
From the moment of creation of the branch its employees carried out work on implementation new technologies and putting into operation new equipment at such enterprises as OJSC "Zaporizhstal", OJSC "Dneprospetsstal", Zaporozhye hardware plant, Zaporozhye fire-resistant plant, Dnepropetrovsk metallurgical plant named after Petrovsky, Dneprovsky metallurgical combine named after Dzerzhinsky, Nikopol ferro-alloy plant, Nikopol pipe plant etc.
Besides that, during that period, Zaporozhye branch took part in implementation of new reconstructions of existing objects at a number of other enterprises of the USSR.
Since July 1st 1997 Scientific and manufacturing enterprise Dneproenergostal Ltd has been an independent enterprise, rendering services to industrial enterprises in the sphere of water and air basin protection and secondary energy resources use.
In the process of carrying out work Scientific and manufacturing enterprise Dneproenergostal Ltd tightly co-operates with similar scientific and technical organizations, including: Zaporozhye State Engineering Academy, Kharkov State Technical university of "Building and architecture", UkrSNTC "Energostal", Kharkov, CJSC NTK "Cement", Kharkov, state enterprise institute "Giprostal", Kharkov, state enterprise institute "Ukrgipromez", Dnepropetrovsk, state enterprise "Institute of titanium", Zaporozhye, OJSC "Zaporozhye Promstroyproject", CJCS "Camozzi – Pneumatic – Simpheropol", OJSC "Uralgipromez", CJSC "MetPromProject" etc.
